Governor Mark Dayton says he is under no illusions about how difficult it will be to get his proposed budget through the legislature.
Dayton told outstate news media during a press conference, that doing nothing will not quell the dissatisfaction of Minnesotans across the state with the current situation.
Dayton's proposal calls for overall tax increases totaling about $2,100,000,000. He said he is aware of Republican's opposition to his budget but he challenges the GOP to give him some better ideas where cuts should be made in lieu of tax increases.
Dayton calls his proposal good for Minnesotans if they get a accurate picture, and better than the status quo.
