Phony Bill

Winona Police are on the lookout for a woman who passed a counterfeit bill at a local convenience store Tuesday.

Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams said the woman walked into the Kwik Trip at Fifth and Orrin Streets about 9:50 a.m. Tuesday and asked for change for a fifty dollar bill.  She was given the change and left the store.

Williams said store employees then tested the bill and discovered it was phony but the woman had already left the area.

If you have any information that could help authorities find the woman you are asked to call Winona Area Crime Stoppers at 457-6530. You can remain anonymous and be eligible for a possible reward.
