Davids--Taxes

Republican State Representative Greg Davids says the House Taxes Committee will get its first formal review of Governor Dayton's budget proposal next week and it may be dead on arrival.

Davids told Winona Radio News among the $2.1 billion in proposed tax increases are a lot of hidden increases including car rentals, newborn screening fees, and even new rules for morticians.  Davids says the proposal is not likely to get full support from lawmakers.

The House Taxes Committee will begin its hearings on the proposal next Tuesday.  Davids chaired the committee the last two years and is the ranking Republican on it now.
