Hiawatha Broadband Communications has hired a partner to assist in the deployment of its fiber optic services in Red Wing and Lake City.
               
Manager of HBC Operations in Red Wing Jerry Olson said JCS of Shelvin, Minnesota has been hired due to the overwhelming demand for HBC video, internet and phone services throughout the Red Wing and LakeCity areas.
               
The installation of the HBC network was begun in early 2012 and since then, according to Olson, the fiber optic cable has been deployed to over 30,000 homes and businesses in the two communities.
