A Lonsdale man has announced he will run for the Minnesota Republican party's State Chair.
Bill Paulson, in a news release, said he will seek the chairmanship currently held by Winona native Pat Shortridge.
Paulson was a delegate to the Republican National Convention and state representative to the convention's powerful Rules Committee.
According to the press release, Shortridge has announced his plans to step down from the GOP Party Chairmanship when his term runs out in April of this year.
The new GOP Party Chair will be elected during the Republican State Central Committee Convention in April.
Paulson is a senior staff engineer at Seagate Technology.
