Peterson - McInstry

Winona Mayor Mark Peterson says that he is confidnet that the city will be able to work out any problems in its energy savings program with McInstry Consulting.

The five year old deal guarantees savings above and beyond the inital $1.7 million dollar up front cost.  In particular an $800,000 methans reclamation system at the sewage treatment plant has failed to produce promised cost savings.

Mayor Peterson says he's confident that a solution is close at hand.

Peterson says he is convinced the company is committed to upholding its end of the bargain.

When asked earlier this year if the company was obligated to satisfy the original terms of the deal, City Manager Judy Bodway said "I don't know."
