The Goodview City council has decided to take another look at a sidewalk construction project near the Goodview school following a public hearing on Wednesday night.
               
City Administrator Dan Matejka said residents voiced strong opposition to the proposal to add sidewalks to portions of 44th and 51st Avenues and 8th Street.

Matejka said the council decided to further discuss the project at its February 11th meeting.

The $283,000 ''Safe Rides to School School'' project had been approved on a 3-to-2 vote in December of 2011. Matejka said with a change in councilmembers and the mayor since then, the council seems split on moving forward.

If it is approved a second time, the work would be conducted this coming summer before school starts in the fall.
