School Budget Cuts

Winona Area Public School Board members will get a chance to further discuss the proposed $500,000 in budget cuts for the next school year when the board meets Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.

The board held a public hearing last Thursday on the cuts but only three  people showed up to hear Superintendent Scott Hannon outline the proposed reductions for the 2013-14 school year.  No final decision on the cuts will be made Thursday. The final vote is scheduled for the board's February 21st meeting.

Information will also be presented on Thursday on adding instructional time to the secondary school day. The board will also hear an overview of the Activities Budget.  The meeting is open to the public.
