Following the public hearing the board will be required to make a final decision on issuing permits the Dablestein and Yoder proposals.
Commissioner Marcia Ward said commissioners have already received a large amount of information on the two proposals and will be looking for new information to be added.
With the state legislature close to introducing a bill that could call for a statewide moratorium on sand mining and require a statewide generic environmental review of sand mines, County Administrator Duane Hebert says that could impact the county's board's decision on the permits.
A 30 day window for the county to make final decisions on permits for the two proposed mines begins Wednesday February 6th.
