19-year old Carl Beck, Jr. of Chippewa Falls, was sentenced to nine months in jail in Buffalo County Circuit Court after his probation was revoked on a charge of felony battery of a police officer.

Beck assaulted two officers during an arrest for underage drinking in rural Mondovi on August 10th. He was sentenced to three years of probation and 90 days in jail in October.

Beck was ordered to pay court costs and credited for 139 days already served in jail. The 139 days would be deducted from his nine-month sentence, which he may serve in Chippewa County, Wis., with work release privileges, the court ruled.

Also in Buffalo County Court, 39-year old Gary Evanson of Mondovi, was scheduled to have a competency hearing February 26th on domestic abuse charges of strangulation or suffocation, battery, two counts of disorderly conduct, battery of a police officer and resisting arrest.

Evanson pleaded not guilty to all charges. He's accused of offenses in September and October and charged as a repeat offender.
