Sheriff's Department Awards

Two members of the Winona County Sheriff's Department have received special awards for the cooperation and assistance to a department employee who was deployed to active duty.

Jail Supervisor Steve Buswell was presented with the Patriot Award from the Employer Support Program of the National Guard and Reserves.

Spokesman Jerry Obieglo said it was the department's employee who nominated Buswell.

Also presented with the Statement of Support award was Sheriff Dave Brand
for his support of the military program established in 1972 by the Department of Defense.

The awards were presented during the Winona County Board meeting.....
