The Merchants Bank says Steve Kovala has joined its Winona staff as vice president and business banker.
                
Kovala comes to Winona from the Duluth area and has more than 12 years of relevant banking experience. Most recently Kovala was the Senior Vice President of Commerce Lending for National Bank of Commerce in Duluth.
                
Prior to that he was the Business Banking Manager for Wells Fargo in Grand Rapids, and has served as Community Bank President for Wells Fargo and Market President for US Bank.
