State Senator Jeremy Miller of Winona says he would like to see college students get more assistance from the state when it comes to getting an education and finding a job.
Miller told Winona Radio News he is authoring a bill to make textbooks more affordable and easier to obtain through the internet. Miller says he also wants to expand a proposal he made last session that would encourage businesses to hire more college interns.
And Miller says he wants to tweak the formula for the state grant program which provides funding for Minnesota students to attend college plus continue increased funding for the program. All of the proposals are being discussed in Miller's Senate Higher Education Committee.
