The Winona Area Public School Board is expected to take action Thursday on proposed budget cuts for the coming school year 2013-14 when the board meets at City Hall.
The proposed reductions total about $500,000 and would be the first round of cuts over the next three years.
Also on the Thursday agenda is an update on the construction of a new math and science addition to Winona High School. The cost is expected to be about $2.4 million and the funds will come from a bequeath from former math instructor, the late Richard Kolter.
In addition, the board will take another look at adding more instructional time to the district's daily class schedules. The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. Thursday and is open to the public.
