The Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team saw its magical season come to an end last night in the MIAC semifinals falling to St. Thomas 69-60. The Cardinals trailed at halftime for the 11th time this season 31-28. Saint Mary’s was able to cut the lead to one with 3:45 remaining but the Tommies finished the game on 12-4 run.
Seniors Jamie Stefely and Jessica Thone led the Cardinals with 17 and 12 points respectively. Saint Mary’s finishes the season 22-5, their most victories since the 1985-86 season. The Cardinals lose four seniors from this year’s team including their two leading scorers Stefely and Thone.
