The second ever silver carp caught in Minnesota was netted near Winona Thursday.
According to FOX 47, commercial fisherman Tim Adams caught the 18-pounder along pool 6, ten miles south of Winona in the Mississippi River.
The Asian carp species are among the destructive fish that eat up the food supply killing off native species.
Asian carp have been previously been found in the Mississippi river at Winona and in Lake Pepin.
Senators Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken and Representative Tim Walz, among others, recently introduced bipartisan legislation to help fight the spread of Asian carp in Minnesota's waterways.
