STEM Lottery



The Winona Area Public School board received an update Thursday on projected class sizes and recent lottery results for the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics school at Jefferson Elementary.

Principal Mat Nelson says the Kindergarten class will be full next fall with 20 students, with a waiting list of 23.

Nelson says 1st grade had 8 spots open and 8 submitted applications for the STEM program. 9 students applied for a spot in the 2nd grade and the school had 10 open spots available. There are 3 students on the waiting list for 3rd grade and 4th grade has two open spots at the moment.
   
As of now, there are projected to be 332 students enrolled at Jefferson next fall.
