Winona Police said a local woman is being investigated by the county attorney's office for possible theft by swindle charges.
                 
Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams said a police investigation has been turned over the county attorney regarding a 42 year old woman who is suspected of stealing as much as $75,000 from an elderly Winona couple.
                
Williams said the woman allegedly befriended the couple.  No further details were released pending a charging decision by the county attorney's office.
