Winona Health has implemented a new approach to care in the Family Practice and Internal Medicine departments called the Care Team Model that's now paying off with additional appointment options.
                           
The Care Team Model combines the strengths and expertise of many healthcare providers to deliver the best possible care for our patients. Care teams include doctors, associate providers, nurses and other staff who work collaboratively, each using their experience and skills. This new approach is designed to maximize a busy doctor's schedule and increase options for patients."
                           
Dr. Robert Wilfahrt says that the Care Team Model has been working for his patients.  He is able to focus on his patients' complex medical problems and they have additional support from associate providers. This results in more appointment options and more timely access to care.
