GOP Deficit Reaction

Republicans are giving themselves the credit for lowering the budget deficit according to a revenue forecast released on Thursday.

Representative Greg Davids says Republicans have taken a $6,200,00,000 deficit from two years ago, when they were in power, and have seen it reduced to the amount of $627,000,000 now.

Davids says that's evidence that tax increases should not be on the table this session.

Republican Steve Drazkowski said most of the savings have been due to Republican budget reforms.

Democrats have said they will continue to pursue tax increases even after hearing the positive news about the forecast for the 2014-15 fiscal years.
