Felony Drugs

Sentencing was set for April 17th, in Winona District Court for a 30-year-old Winona woman who was found guilty Friday of felony drug charges.

A Winona County jury returned guilty verdicts on three first degree controlled substance counts against Nicole Marie Poillon alleging the sale of 10 or more grams of cocaine.

The verdicts were returned after a four-day trial.

According to County Attorney Karin Sonneman, Poillon sold the cocaine on three different dates in April of 2010 to a confidential informant in an undercover buy.

She was arrested after the third sale and authorities discovered a large amount of documented money in purse that was used in the buy, along with 2-point-5 grams of cocaine, and 26 hydrocodone pills.

When they searched her residence they turned up more than 53-thousand dollars cash, along with drug paraphernalia, and more cocaine.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant County Attorney Justin Wesley..
