The latest budget forecast shows an improving budget picture in Minnesota and with the improvements Eliot Seide with AFSME Council Number Five of state workers says now is the time for Minnesota to step up.

Seide says Minnesota has been under the gun with the budget basically for the last decade and has used accounting shifts and changes to help piece it together. He says those days need to end and that's why his group supports the budget proposal from Governor Mark Dayton.

On Thursday the projected budget deficit was announced at 627-million dollars down from 1-point-1 billion dollars last December.
