The Port Authority of Winona meets Thursday, March 7th and they will vote on a pair of agreements with CHS.
CHS would like to cross a portion of Riverview Drive with an overhead conveyor for the purpose of loading barges. The term of the license would be for 20 years with 5 year automatic renewals.
CHS is also seeking a lease agreement with the Port Authority to utilize the space known as the former commercial harbor dock to stage trucks waiting to unload commodities.
Both parties agree that the development of the staging area would reduce congestion and enhance safety in the commercial harbor. The lease also provides limited use of the former commercial dock.
The Port Authority meets at 4:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall and the public is welcome to attend.
