XCel Energy customers in Rollingstone were without power for nearly three hours this morning as heavy snow brought down tree limbs...and power lines. Power in Rollingstone was restored just before 5:30 Monday morning.
They aren't alone.
Tri-County Electric Cooperative was experiencing power outages due to the heavy snow that started last night and continued this morning. 900 customers were without power.
The majority of the power outages were due to tree limbs that are sagging from the heavy snow and coming into contact with power lines. Crews were out since 11 pm Sunday and continued to work through the night and morning hours. The cooperative says crews were out working to restoer power throughout the morning.
