United Way of the Greater Winona Area highlighted its accomplishments during the past year at the organization's 69th annual meeting Tuesday night.
Key volunteers and organizations were recognized at the meeting.
The Mrs. Ward Lucas gold award, which recognizes campaigns with at least 80% employee participation and $75 giving per capita, was given to Catholic Charities, UPS, Winona Agency and Xcel Energy.
The bronze award, recognizing campaigns with at least 60% employee participation and $35 giving per capita, was given to Ticona Celstran. They also received an award for their outstanding employee campaign.
Taff Roberts was presented the Thomas F. Stark award for outstanding volunteerism in the community,
Roberts was cited for his work with the Women's Resource Center. He was also recognized for his work with many other community organizations, including Catholic Worker House, Bluff Country Coop, Blue Heron Consort, Oratorio Choir, local soccer associations, and most recently organizing the Rockwell Kent Centennial Celebration.
A special award for outstanding campaign partner was given to Miller Felpax, for their outstanding employee campaign and corporate support.
Organizations with campaigns of at least $1,000, whose overall (corporate and employee) giving increased at least 10%, were also given awards. These included: Benchmark Electronics, JC Penney; Thern and WalMart.
