Rushford-Peterson Qualifies For State Tournament

The seventh ranked Rushford-Peterson boys’ basketball team earned a return trip to the Class A state tournament after beating Blooming Prairie last night 62-47 in the Section 1A final. The Trojans put together an 11-0 run in each half and they led by as many as 23 points in the second half. Balanced scoring was once again a key for the Trojans. Charlie Krambeer hit four three-pointers and finished with 14 points while three different R-P players scored nine points apiece. Seth Thompson had nine points and nine rebounds.

Rushford-Peterson is heading back to the state tournament for the second straight year and this will be the sixth state tournament appearance in the last nine years for the Trojans. Rushford-Peterson is 26-3 and they’ve won twelve straight and 25 of the last 26 games. Rushford-Peterson will begin in the state tournament next Thursday at Williams Arena. The time and opponent will be determined this weekend. All of Rushford-Peterson’s games at the state tournament will be broadcast on K Country 99.3 and online at winonaradio.com.
