Winona State senior Clayton Vette can add another Player of the Year award to his resume. The Winona State center was named the 2012-13 Daktronics Central Region Men’s Basketball Player of the Year yesterday and was also named to the all-region first team.
This is the second straight season that Vette has been named first team all-region. Vette is also the NSIC’s Player of the Year and he is averaging 20.8 points and 8.2 rebounds.
This is the third time since 2007 a Warrior has brought home the region’s Player of the Year award. John Smith claimed the honor after the 2006-07 season while Smith and Jonte Flowers shared the award after the 2007-08 season.
