The Winona Area Public School Board on Thursday will be asked to approve a bid of $1.55 million for constructing the 20,700 square foot addition.
Haldeman-Homme of Minneapolis is the apparent low bidder on a second contract for installing casework. Their bid was $252,000. Six bids were received on the construction project, including two local bids...four bids were received on the casework contract.
The bulk of the $2.4 million project will be covered by a bequest from the late-Richard Kolter, a former math instructor. Construction is set to begin in June after classes are let out for the summer with completion earmarked for about August 10th.
The school board meets Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.
Also on the agenda, a proposal from two senior high students who would like to see the board adopt an open lunch program at the senior high for the 2013-14 school.
