March Food Drive Update
The annual Boy Scout food pickup for the March Foodshare food drive collected about 3000 pounds of non-perishable food items.
Winona volunteer Services executive Director Executive Director Sandra Burke says that brings the total amount collected so far to about 7,000 pounds of food and about 13,500 in cash donations...well behind the goal of 33,000 pounds of food and about $27,000 in cash. Burke is encouraging more donations of food and cash.
The totals are expected to rise when drop barrels throughout the community in food stores and churches are collected. Donations are still being accepted at Volunteer Services at 402 East Second during regular business hours. This year's food drive runs through April 5th.
