Two town of Buffalo residents are running for county board in a special election next Tuesday to fill a vacancy in the 14th Dist. representing the towns of Cross and Buffalo.
Errol Doerr and Mary Anne McMillan Urell are seeking a one year term to serve out the unexpired term of former county supervisor David Ernst of Cross. He resigned in August.
McMillian Urell, a native of Iowa who moved to Buffalo County in 1988, has a degree in marketing and recently retired from a 24 year career in the Army National Guard. Doerr is a small business owner of a pest control company and farms land in both Buffalo and Trempealeau counties.
Protection of landowner rights and fighting to keep property taxes from rising were goals cited by Doerr. McMillian Urell says maintaining property values, environmental resources and preserving a healthy environment conducive to family life were among her interests.
