A seat on the Buffalo County Board in Dist. 6 at Mondovi has sat empty for nearly 12 months. But that will change on April 2nd when a special election will pick one of two candidates running for the office to serve on the county's board of supervisors.
Lou Anne Roby and Darrell Rognholt are vying for a one year term to fill the seat until the next regularly scheduled county board election in April 2014.
Rognholt, a water plant operator employed by the City of Eau Claire, said his goals included job creation and development in Buffalo County to help people and expand the county's revenue base. Roby, a parent and environmental activist said she felt strongly about civic duty and protecting basic rights of people living in Buffalo County and elsewhere.
The 6th Dist. county board seat at Mondovi stayed vacant after no one ran for the office in the regular 2012 election last April. Former board supervisor Dave Eddy did not run for election. No one else filed for the office and a person receiving a handful of write-in votes declined the office.
