The Winona City Council on Monday will be asked to contribute 5-thousand dollars for hiring a University of Minnesota consulting group to work with a local committee on a plan for redeveloping Levee Park.
The Levee Park Redevelopment Committee has received 10-thousand dollars in private donations to help pay the 15-thousand dollar fee for hiring the Center for Changing Landscapes, which is under the University of Minnesota College of Design.
The work will include monthly meetings with the local committee and stakeholders, along with recommendations for implementation of any redevelopment plans.
The Levee Park Redevelopment Committee is recommending that the University consultants be hired and the city fund the remaining 5-thousand dollars.
The Council meets Monday at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
