Saint Mary's Comeback Keeps Them Perfect in Conference Play
Paul Van Beek Reporting
The Saint Mary’s softball team also swept a conference doubleheader Tuesday beating Bethel at the Rochester Dome. The Cardinals made quick work of the Royals in the first game winning 10-0 in five innings. Alex Raske hit a grand slam while Nat Boissiere hit a three-run homer. Kayla Peterson threw four scoreless innings and gave up two hits for the win.
The second game was a much different story but the Cardinals still came out on top 10-6. Saint Mary’s trailed 5-3 heading into the top of the seventh before they put up seven runs to take the lead. Boissiere had two hits and 3 RBIs while Anna Ramboldt and Raske both had two hits and drove in two. Saint Mary’s improve to 11-4 overall and 4-0 in the MIAC. This is the first time since 1999 that the Cardinals have started the conference season 4-0. That was the year before the Cardinals won the Division III national championship.
