Title Facilities Maintenance Technician

Description 2nd shift Maintenance 2:45-11pm M-Th and 12:15-7:15pm Friday. OT as required.
POSITION TITLE: Maintenance I/Machinist I
DEPARTMENT/PLANT: Maintenance Winona & Wabasha
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager

GENERAL FUNCTION:
Must have the ability to diagnose and repair equipment. Help maintain production machines to enable machine operators to obtain maximum levels of production. Provide the preventive maintenance required to help eliminate breakdowns.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1. Execute emergency and all regular repairs to machines and equipment.
2. Perform preventive maintenance on all machines and equipment.
3. Install and modify machinery and equipment as directed by Maintenance and Engineering.
4. Install and maintain all safety features as required on all machinery and equipment.
5. Perform all building maintenance as directed by maintenance supervisor.
6. Help maintain an inventory of necessary supplies by keeping Maintenance Supervisor aware
of usage and possible requirements.
7. Keep a detailed record of all preventive maintenance, adjustments and repairs to each
machine. This involves making entries in the log assigned to each machine and/or any
documentation of AIB requirements performed on the machine or in the designated work
area.



QUALITY ASSURANCE DUTIES:
1. Reports to supervisor when emergency or temporary repairs will not stand up to continual
Production or efficiency needed on machine.
2. Attempts to clean machine after completing repairs to allow machine operators to continue
production without having to do excessive cleaning.
3. Install equipment without damaging other components or parts on a machine, i.e., anilox
Rolls, transfer rolls and belts.
4. Report to supervisor all other repairs that may be needed after providing emergency repairs.
5. All employees must follow WS Packaging’s rules for the Food Safe Program.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
None

SAFETY AND EXPOSURES TO POSSIBLE HAZARDS:
1. Operate all equipment and machines with guards and safety- features in place & functional.
2. Wear company provided safety equipment as required by company policy, supplier
instructions and/or OSHA regulations.
3. Store all supplies, chemicals and equipment in a safe and orderly matter.
4. Ensure that lock-out tag-out is performed on equipment before doing maintenance.
5. Ensure that all safety guards and features are functional and operative before turning
Machines back to operators.




PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have the capability of lifting 100 pounds from floor level to waist. Must have ability to stand, stoop, crouch, bend, squat and work in awkward positions. Must have the ability to walk and stand on concrete floors for 8-10 hour shifts, and work in an environment with paper dust suspended in the air. Have the ability to work with solvents, chemicals, and various metals.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must have set of tools (personal) as directed by maintenance supervisor.
Must have good vision including able to work with small parts and sometimes doing so for long periods of time. Ability to become certified and safely operate the forklift, scissors lift, etc.
Must have ability to read and follow blue prints or other schematic plans. Individuals must have mathematical skills and the ability to accurately measure using whole numbers, fractions, etc.

Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent experience.
