Spring Flood Run

If you plan to be out and about Saturday between Winona and Twin Cities should be on the lookout for motorcycles.  It's the annual Spring Flood Run where groups of motorcyclists travel between Winona and the Twin Cities on both sides of the Mississippi River to raise money for a good cause.

The funds raised go to the Gillette Children's Hospital in the Twin Cities.  The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says up to 30,000 riders are expected to take part.

There will two runs southward with one starting in Stillwater on the Minnesota side and traveling down Highway 61 to Winona...and the other starts at Prescott, Wisconsin and runs south along Highway 35.  In addition, there will be a northward run on the Minnesota side that will start at the Winona Harley Davidson Shop. Cyclists are asked to meet there at 8:00 a.m.

In the Winona area, major gathering points will include Wabasha, Minneiska and Minnesota City as well as Winona's Harley Davidson shop. Gatherings are also scheduled in Alma and Fountain City in Wisconsin.  Organizers says the Flood Run will not be affected by the weather in any way.
