Honda Motorwerks of La Crosse hosted a tour of sustainable practices in the area Monday as part of Earth Day.
About 30 people attended a noon time lunch at Levee Park in Winona as part of the tour.
Honda Moterwerks President, Chris Schneider, says the group visited the Gunderson Health System's bio-gas generator. Schneider says the system produces over 8,000,000 kilowatts of electricity per year.
Schneider says the lunch at the levee featured all locally grown organic food and the tour also included visiting a wind turbine and making a stop at Kwik Trip in Minnesota City to refuel with compressed natural gas.
The group made the trip to Winona in a CNG powered van as part of the Earth Day event.
Schneider says it's a great way to highlight renewable energy and sustainable practices, which Honda Motorwerks specializes in.
