Rochester Courthouse Security

Security procedures are being reviewed at the Olmsted County Government Center after a defendant tried to harm himself with a razor during a court appurtenance.
Authorities say the 77 year old defendant is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation after trying to cut his wrist during his sentencing yesterday.
Sheriff Dave Mueller says metal detectors are among the security measures up for discussion.  Metal detectors currently are being used at the Winona County Courthouse during appearances by individuals involved in high profile criminal cases.
