Citizen's Environmental Quality Committee
The Citizens Environmental Quality Environmental Committee will meet next Tuesday, May 7th, to further discuss air quality monitoring of frac sand operations.
According to the agenda, the committee will discuss a draft of several potential recommendations.
Those include recommending the decision on air monitoring at frac sand facilities should be deferred to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and the City of Winona should consider interim monitoring for crystalline silica if an answer is not immediately available from the MPCA.
The committee is expected to vote after discussion and any recommendations would be passed along to the city Planning Commission.
The meeting starts at 4:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall and the public is welcome to attend.
