A lingering dispute over clerical staffing needs in the Buffalo County Clerk of Circuit Court Office grew more divisive after a former employee alleged a hostile work environment.
Rebecca Kamrowski resigned in February after four months of part-time employment in the clerk of court and register in probate offices at the courthouse. She recently sent a letter to Buffalo County Board members critical of elected clerk of circuit court Roselle Schlosser .
Kamrowski claimed Schlosser provided inadequate job training and was difficult to work under.
The letter landed on the desks of county supervisors at a board session where a resolution was on the table to hire a full-time clerical worker assigned to clerk of court and register in probate offices. Kamrowski's letter prompted a vote to send the proposed hiring resolution back to committee, which was approved it in a split 7 to 5 vote.
According to Kamrowski, there wasn't enough workload to justify assigning work hours in the clerk of court's office. But she said there was great workload in the register in probate office.
