The Winona City Planning Commission on Monday, May 13th, will discuss possible amendments to a downtown zoning district that had allowed for a failed condominium project near the Mississippi River.
That project was halted before it was completed and the property, at the foot of Washington Street, has been turned over to a La Crosse bank which has not disclosed what it wants to do with it.
A month ago the City Council placed a four-month moratorium on new development activity at the site which is contained in the B-2-point-5 zoning district.
Councilmembers sought the moratorium so the city could address possible new uses for the property that are not contained in the present zoning conditions before it is redeveloped.
The meeting will be at 4:30 p.m. at City Hall and is open to the public.
