Highway 16 Project

A six and a half million dollar project to upgrade Minnesota Highway 16 between Rushford and Lanesboro is set to begin this Monday, May 20th.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says motorists will see a detour that includes Highway 43, Highway 30 and Highway 250 while the work progresses, The detour is expected to be in place until late August, weather permitting.

A pavement reclamation process will be used that will see part of the existing road surface milled off, ground down, and compacted back into place.  Dunn Blacktop, a Division of Mathy Constriction, is the prime contractor for the project scheduled for completion in September.
