The local Ready Set School program has met its goal and has received a $10,000 matching grant from Winona Radio owners Pat and Jerry Papenfuss.
The organization was challenged to raise $10,000 between March 15th, and April 30th. It actually raised a total of $10,890 during that time period. It's the fifth year in a row Winona Radio has made the challenge grant offer and the fifth straight year the goal was reached.
Jerry Papenfuss said Winona Radio is proud to support the organization.
Ready Set School raises money year around to help Winona County students in grades K-12 be able to afford the necessary school supplies for each school year. In the current school year Ready Set School has helped 947 students.
