The Winona City Council on Monday will be asked to approve a contract for the final design of proposed upgrades to the municipal airport.
The entire project is expected to cost $12 million with 90% of the cost picked up by state and federal agencies. The design contract is for $475,000 which is refundable as part of the project.
While the availability of federal funding is not known at this time the design documents and bidding process must be completed. Construction would begin this fall if the necessary funding is appropriated and the airport would be closed for several months of the construction with air traffic routed to La Crosse.
Winona County Administrator Duane Hebert will address the council on a proposed upgrade to the county's law enforcement data system. It's a system that will tie law enforcement departments in Winona, Winona County, Lewiston, St. Charles, and Goodview into the same reporting system,.
Councilmembers will also hear a report on the city's 2012 financial reports. Monday's meeting is at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. It will be preceded by an informational meeting at 5:15 on the city's 2012 financial reports.
