Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams said witnesses told police an employee of Mulligan's on East Third Street was attacked by as many as five different people at the rear of the establishment just after 1:00 a.m. Cited with third and fifth degree felony assault, and third degree riot were: 28 year old Shane Ian Miller of Fountain City and 23 year old Ryan Thomas Eisenmenger of Alma. Miller was also charged with terroristic threats.
Williams said it started when the male employee responded to some knocking on a rear door and witnesses told police when the door was opened the employee was attacked. Some of the assailants fled on foot when police were summoned and Williams said Miller is also accused of attacking a second male who was walking on the street.
Miller was eventually arrested near Fourth and Franklin Streets. Eisenmenger was apprehended s short time later. Williams aid the incident behind Mulligan's was caught on video and more arrests may be coming as the investigation continues.
The case has been referred to the county attorney's office for determination of formal charges against the two men. The bar employee was not seriously injured.
