The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has released a draft environmental assessment on a proposal to unload dredged material from the Grand Encampment Placement Site in Buffalo County.
The placement site has reached its storage capacity, and the Corps is proposing to unload approximately 500,000 cubic yards of dredged material. The material would be unloaded either mechanically or hydraulically. The purpose of this action is to maintain storage at the site for future placement of dredged material.
The environmental assessment and additional information is available for public review until June 28th.
