The Fountain City Council is hopeful of having four prospects for a city council vacancy in the city's 1st Ward.
John Sagan, Kevin Brady, Connie Strand and Kevin Hutter indicated they might be interested in the seat, according to Fountain City Clerk Janet LaDuke. Each of the four received one or more write-in votes in an April 2nd election for a 3 year term on the council to replace outgoing alderperson Gary Brone who did not run for re-election.
The city notified all of the write-in candidates by letter to see if any were interested in appointment to the office. Strand, Hutter, Brady and Sagan responded that they might be interested. They will be contacted again to determine if one or more of them wanted to be considered for appointment.
LaDuke said the council hopes to make an appointment decision at its next meeting on June 11th.
