The Winona County Sheriff's Department says a 21 year old county resident was injured when the all terrain vehicle he was driving struck a fence Sunday evening. Chief Deputy Ron Ganrude said Andrew Heintz was riding the ATV near his residence located along County Road 12 when it struck a barbed wire fence. Ganrude said Heintz sustained a hand injury that required seven stitches. He was taken to a hospital by a private vehicle. The incident was reported at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
