Winona State University will offer a new Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Leadership and Administration starting in August.
The degree will address the growing demand for competent and innovative leaders in allied health fields.
The program is the first online healthcare leadership degree offered through the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.
WSU Program Director Shellie Nelson said the H-L-A degree was designed to fill a very specific need.
Nelson says the degree launch comes at a pivotal time...the U-S Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a faster-than-average 22% increase in hires of medical and health services managers between 2010 and 2020.
The new degree program was developed through a collaboration with Bemidji State University, Healthcare Minnesota, Rochester Community and Technical College, and other regional two-year technical colleges.....
