Jumps for Hope will be hosting a skydiving event at the Rushford Municipal Airport in Rushford, next Sunday to raise funds for cancer research.
Alana Wilson, a long time Minnesota resident, started Jumps for Hope to raise funds to go to research of cancer causes and cures as well as to cancer patient needs and care. Wilsons says her father died at the age of 49 from cancer and she started the organization in his honor.
Wilson says the June 23rd event in Rushford will feature tandem skydiving and a portion of all skydiver's fees will benefit Jumps for Hope, who in turn will donate to the Eagles Cancer Telethon.
Rushford Mayor Chris Hallum, has agreed to do his first tandem skydive at the event.
Tandem skydivers who wish to support Jumps for Hope can book their skydive by calling Westside Skydivers at 888-758-5867. Donations can also be made online at www.jumpsforhope.com and are tax deductible.
