Buffalo County Emergency Management and Recycling Director Steve Schiffli is advising residents to be aware of the possibility of flash flooding in the county.
Schiffli issued an alert that says the National Weather Service has forecast a high probability of thunderstorms through Tuesday morning. The storms could add several inches of water to already saturated soil in Buffalo County and that could produce flash flooding.
Schiffli reminds motorists to be cautious and to expect washouts in flood prone areas of the county. Do not drive through flowing water.
